Afshar, whose popular series ‘Kimia’ is currently on iFilm TV, has made a lasting impact on Iranian television.
Born on January 15, 1969, in Qom, Afshar was drawn to the arts from an early age, developing an interest in Ta'zieh, the traditional Persian Passion Play, and theater.
By age 16, he had already ventured into directing, creating his first short film.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in directing from IRIB University in 1990, he took on the role of assistant director in Davoud Mir-Baqeri’s film ‘The Passenger’.
Afshar officially began his television directing career in 2000 with the series ‘Eternal Sunset’.
Over the years, he has created numerous acclaimed series, including ‘Gando’, ‘Brother’, and ‘Jaber ibn Hayyan’.
